Kat Morrell Ceramics

I have been immersed in the creative process since an early age.  As a 4 year old who could barely reach the tabletop, I can recall sitting with my baba (grandmother) learning the Pysanki wax-drop-pull method to create colorful Ukrainian eggs.  Creativity was part of everyday life in my family.  My parents had a jazz band, my father was an oil painter, and my mother made pine cone wreathes and feather hats.

I have been working and studying clay since 1993, first at the Kirkland Arts Center and later at Pottery Northwest.  My work has appeared in local shows including

    • Northwest Craft Galley - Washington Potters Association show

    • Contain It - Snohomish Council for the Arts

    • The Discovered and Undiscovered Potters Sale at Columbia Winery, Hollywood Schoolhouse and Pickering Barn

    • Kirkland Uncorked

    • Kirkland Arts Center Holiday Sale

    • Phinney Ridge Neighborhood Center Group show

    • Adorn Gallery

    • East Shore Gallery

    • Kirkland Artist Studio Tour

I am currently working fulltime on my clay art in my studio in Kirkland and experimenting with different forms, glazes and surface treatments.
