I have been immersed in the creative process since an early age.  As a 4 year old who could barely reach the tabletop, I recall sitting with my baba (grandmother) learning to create Pysanki - colorful Ukrainian eggs.

I studied bio-chemistry and public health, but my first real job was with IBM in Pittsburgh, selling computer systems for scientific and engineering applications.  I moved to LA and sold AI workstations and 3D computer animation systems.

After tiring of the LA “scene”, traffic and smog, I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico for 3 years before settling in Seattle in 1991. I became an executive recruiter (aka  Headhunter) for Internet start-ups for 10 years until the bubble burst.  It was right at that time that I met my art benefactor, venture capitol investor, tool maker, best friend and husband who has provided me the opportunity to work in clay full time.

I have been working and studying clay since 1993, first at the Kirkland Arts Center and occasionally at Pottery Northwest.  I have studied Glaze and Color Development with Robin Hopper and Aesthetics of Ceramic Form with Les Manning at Metchosin International Summer School for the Arts (MISSA) on Vancouver Island in Canada.  I recently studied Crystalline Glaze Techniques with Ginny Conrow and John Tilton at Dunedin Fine Arts Center in Dunedin Florida.  In October 2009 I also participated in the Electric Reduction Crystalline Glaze Gathering created by Phil Hamling in New York.
